Ø Court refuses to stop Dasuki’s trial
A Federal High Court in Abuja
yesterday rejected the request by former National Security Adviser (NSA),
Mohammed Dasuki for an indefinite adjournment in his trial for alleged illegal
possession of firearms and money laundering.
Dasuki had filed a motion, seeking
an indefinite adjournment in his trial pending the determination of an appeal
he filed before the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which he said was a referral of a
question of law to the appellate for determination

Ø ICPC arrests former judge for alleged N220m fraud
The Independent Corrupt Practices
and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) said it had arrested a former Kano
State High Court Judge, Justice Kabiru Auta, for an alleged N220 million fraud.

Mrs Rasheedat Okoduwa, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Ø Borno: 18 Killed, 29 Injured in Suicide Attacks
Eighteen persons were Wednesday
killed in Borno State as suicide bombers launched audacious attacks on the
troubled town.
Twenty-nine persons were injured
in the attacks that threw the state capital into panic.
It was learnt that four suicide
bombers, two males and two females, targeted a community in the outskirts of
Maiduguri, the birthplace of Boko Haram.

The United States (US) has laid
claim to $300million stashed abroad by the late military dictator, Gen Sani
Abacha.
America allegedly told a court in
an unnamed foreign country that it had an interest in the loot because it was
saved in its currency, the US dollar.
