It is not yet Ruhr for Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state during the last April general elections, Mr. Labaran Maku, has vowed to challenge the Appeal Court''s reaffirmation of his election.
Speaking to journalists in his Akwanga country home on Saturday, Maku, a former minister of information insisted that he won the election “overwhelmingly but the forces of oppression in Nasarawa State have continued to follow us even to the courts.”
In an emotion-laden voice, the politician narrated the circumstances of his yet-to-be fruitful bid for the Nasarawa State top job citing various instances of alleged manipulation of the electoral process against him.
“Yesterday, the Appeal Court dismissed my petition (against Al-Makura) in Makurdi. Recall that I stood for governor under APGA and won in 8 of the 13 local governments in Nasarawa State. Votes were shared by APGA and the other political parties in the remaining 5. In virtually all parts of the state, security agencies in uniforms collaborated with INEC to rig votes as in Wambai,
