The Assistant Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force in charge of Zone 3 Yola, Adamawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Jinjiri, is dead.
Reports on his death indicated that the late AIG was hypertensive and fell ill in the wee hours of Saturday at his official residence in Yola.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment but gave up the ghost at the Federal Medical Centre in the city.
Confirming his death yesterday, the spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command, Othman Abubakar, said the late AIG Jinjiri was rushed to the hospital unconscious where he was declared dead as a result of his ailment on Saturday morning.
Abubakar described the late Jinjiri as a highly committed and disciplined police officer during his life time and that arrangements had been concluded to convey his body to Rano town in Rano Local Government Area of Kano State as demanded by his family for his interment.
