INEC meets over Bayelsa election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is on the verge of meeting to decide on the possible date for the supplementary poll for the inconclusive Bayelsa State Governorship election.

An impeccable source at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja said that the meeting, which resumes by 2.00pm will discuss myriad of electoral issues including a total review of the December 3 Bayelsa election and the Kogi governorship supplementary polls.
Asked the likely new date for the Bayelsa inconclusive poll, our source said: “As I speak with you, the commissioners and the chairman are about to resume meeting to decide among other things, the new date for the supplementary Bayelsa election.
“I can also confirm to you that the Commission will equally review the Kogi State supplementary poll and the Bayelsa governorship poll generally. The meeting will start by 2.00pm and far reaching decisions will be taken,” our source said.
