Rivers: NJC Extends Appointments of Acting Chief Judge, President, Customary Court of Appeal

The  National  Judicial  Council  (NJC) has recommended  the extension  of  the  appointment  of  the acting Chief Judge  of Rivers State, Justice Daisy Okocha from December 1, 2015 to January 15,  2016.

A statement issued yesterday by the Special Assistant to Governor Nyesom Wike on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, said the governor has consequently approved of  the extension  of  the  appointment  of the  Okocha  as acting chief judge  of the  state as recommended.

According to the statement, the NJC also recommended   the extension  of  the  appointment  of  Honourable  Justice  Christy  Gabriel-Nwankwo  as the Acting  President of Rivers State Customary  Court of  Appeal for an additional  period of  three months.
He said Wike has also accepted the recommendation and approved the extension  of  the  appointment  of Gabriel-Nwankwo as  the acting president of Rivers State Customary Court of Appeal for another  three  months.
