Ooni begins free health service

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has inaugurated seven commuter buses to ease transportation problems of the people of Ile Ife and its environs.
Ogunwusi also launched a free health services scheme for the people of Ile Ife.

The monarch, who partnered with Olofin Micro Finance Bank, Ile Ife, inaugurated the coastal buses, worth N56m which were assembled by Leyland Motor Company, in Ife on Thursday.
He used the occasion to appeal to Nigerians to patronise locally-made goods. This, he said, would encourage local manufacturers, create jobs and boost the economy.
Ogunwusi urged the people of the town to make good use of the free health care services, saying that development cannot thrive in a town that has health challenges.
The Managing Director of Olofin Micro Finance Bank, Mr. Toyin Olufolahan, said the buses cost N8m each.
He said the bank decided to partner the monarch in his bid to bring about economic transformation in Ile Ife.
