Sanusi removes Kano State gov's brother as village head

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has sacked Sani Ganduje as the Head of Ganduje Village, in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of the state for “gross negligence of duty.”
The sacking of Ganduje, who is the younger brother of the Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, was announced on Monday by the Kano Emirate Council.
The council said the sacking was with immediate effect.

Speaking at a special palace sitting in Kano on Monday, the emir of Kano, Sanusi, said Ganduje was being stripped of his turban to safeguard the credibility attached to the traditional institutions in Kano State.
Sanusi said it was an offence for anyone to disrespect traditional institution, adding that the Kano Emirate Council no longer found Ganduje’s “gross negligence to duty” tolerable.
The monarch said it was expected of every traditional ruler in the state to exhibit good conduct and advised all traditional rulers in the Kano Emirate Council to be disciplined and shun any act of negligence and gross official misconduct.
According to him, nothing could stand in the wheel of progress of the Kano Emirate Council to maintain its adored status, with discipline and commitment to duty.
