Ø Defiant Alison-Madueke Allegedly Informed Aluko She’s Ready to Go to Jail

Former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who is being investigated for a series of multi-billion dollar fraud and money laundering offences in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States of America allegedly threatened to squeal on Kola Aluko and Jide Omokore, and said she was prepared to go to jail with them.
Omokore and Aluko were directors of Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Nigeria Ltd (AEDC) and Atlantic Energy Brass Development Ltd (AEBD), to whom the former minister awarded the contract to fund some oil leases jointly held by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NNPC), the exploration and production subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, and local oil firms under a Strategic Alliance Agreement (SAA).

Ø What Buhari revealed about his health status – Tinubu
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Sunday insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari did not lie about his health condition.
Tinubu said the President had told Nigerians that he needed to take care of himself. He urged the citizenry to keep praying for Buhari’s full recovery.

Ø INEC Asks Court to Discharge Order Stopping Melaye’s Recall
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to discharge its order which directed the commission to maintain the status quo on the recall process of the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye.

INEC asked the court to set aside the order and to grant an order of accelerated hearing of the case filed by Melaye.

Ø JAMB warns against multiple registration for UTME, Direct Entre
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said it will not condone multiple registration for Direct Entry (DE) and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This was contained in a statement signed by JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Mr Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja on Sunday.

Ø Arewa, Ohanaeze Youths Meet, Northern Coalition Begins Review of Quit Notice to Igbos
But as Nigerian leaders met last night to debate the restructuring question, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) met Saturday night with the Northern coalition of youths, with a view to charting a common course for the peaceful co-existence of various groups in all parts of the country.
In the meeting, which took place in Abuja, the northern coalition said it had begun the process of reviewing its demand asking the Igbos to leave the North by October 1, but said it would not back down on its petition to the United Nations asking it to intervene in the affairs of the nation.
