Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has advised Nigerians to accept the reality of increased electricity tariff.

He said the increment was effected so that Nigerians can enjoy reliable power supply.
​The​ minister urged Nigerians to ask that meters be supplied instead of getting court injunctions against tariff review.

Ø Paris Club refund: FG releases details of payment to 36 states, FCT
The Federal Government has released details of payments to the 36 states as the refund of “over-deductions on Paris Club, London Club Loans and Multilateral debts on the accounts of States and Local Governments (1995-2002).”

This is the second tranche of the refunds to the states.
A total of N243.8billion was released to the 36 states and Abuja.

Ø Tinubu’s support for Ganduje ignites reaction from Kwankwaso
A statement by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, supporting the second term bid of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, has revived the power tussle in the state.

Tinubu, at the weekend in Kano, said Ganduje remains a dependable candidate who should be supported for a re-election in 2019.

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made the statement when he commiserated with Ganduje on the death of Maitama Sule.

Ø Kogi: NLC warns Bello over implementation of Contributory Pension Scheme
The Nigeria Labour Congress in Kogi State has cautioned Governor Yahaya Bello over the implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme.

State chairman of the NLC, Comrade Onuh Edoka who was speaking on the sideline of a sensitization programme organized by the state government to see reasons why Civil Servants should key into the scheme, observed that the said Contributory Pension Scheme had failed in other states which adopted it in Nigeria.
