Ø  More troubles for Arik Air as workers shut down operations
Aviation unions on Thursday shut down Arik Air‎, the largest airline in Nigeria.
The unions, which include the National Union of Air Transport Employees, Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the National
Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers, on Wednesdy threatened to shut down the airline following Arik management’s failure to reinstate its sacked members.

Ø  Saraki declared assets, CCB affirms

The trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki continued yesterday at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) admitting that Saraki did declare his assets and those of his family members.
The third prosecution witness and a staff of CCB, Mr. Samuel Madojemu, also admitted before the tribunal during cross-examination that Saraki equally declared the assets of his wife, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, both in Nigeria and abroad, as well as those of his children whose names were not read out.

Ø  Angry pupils, teachers shutdown Jalingo

Commercial activities were brought to a halt on Wednesday in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State when aggrieved primary school pupils and their teachers staged a protest against non-payment of teachers’ salaries.
The protesters blocked major streets and the gate of Taraba State Government House for hours.

Ø  I did my NYSC program in Kaduna – Dino Melaye 

Senator Dino Melaye has reaffirmed the authenticity of his Bachelor’s degree in Geography, stating that he did his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Kaduna State.
Amid the raging controversy over his graduate status, Melaye took to his Twitter handle to share a photo of himself at the NYSC gold camp in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.

Ø  Why cancer, infertility are on the rise, by expert

A former President of Chemical Society of Nigeria, CSN, Prof Oladele Osibanjo, has blamed the increased cases of cancer and other harmful diseases on the abuse of chemicals.
The university teacher who was the guest lecturer at the 22nd Annual lecture, award of honours and postgraduate scholarships of Stephen Oluwole Awokoya Foundation for Science Education (SOAFSE) said major global environmental problems are caused by chemicals.
