More troubles for Arik Air as
workers shut down operations
Aviation unions on
Thursday shut down Arik Air, the largest airline in Nigeria.
The unions, which
include the National Union of Air Transport Employees, Air Transport Services
Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the National
Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers, on Wednesdy threatened to shut down the airline following Arik management’s failure to reinstate its sacked members.

Saraki declared
assets, CCB affirms
The
trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki continued yesterday at the Code of
Conduct Tribunal (CCT) with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) admitting that
Saraki did declare his assets and those of his family members.
The third prosecution
witness and a staff of CCB, Mr. Samuel Madojemu, also admitted before the
tribunal during cross-examination that Saraki equally declared the assets of
his wife, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, both in Nigeria and abroad, as well as those of
his children whose names were not read out.

Ø Angry pupils, teachers
shutdown Jalingo
Commercial activities were brought to a halt on
Wednesday in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State when aggrieved primary school
pupils and their teachers staged a protest against non-payment of teachers’
salaries.
The protesters blocked major streets and the gate of
Taraba State Government House for hours.
