Ø  Buhari absent at FEC meeting, remains indoors
President Muhammadu Buhari was absent at the Wednesday’s meeting of the Federal Executive Council held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He also did not report in his office but remained inside his official residence.
The President’s absence sparked off another round of speculation on the state of health of the 74-year-old leader, who recently returned to the country from his 49-day medical vacation to the United Kingdom.

Ø  Reps to summon Jonathan over Malabu oil deal

Chairman, House of Representatives ad-hoc panel probing the contract of Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 245, Razak Atunwa, says his committee will invite former president, Goodluck Jonathan, to assist in the ongoing investigation of the Malabu oil deal.
Recall that Jonathan on Tuesday dismissed reports that he received $200m as kick-back from the said deal, adding that the “fake news” was the handiwork of those determined to truncate his rising international profile

Ø  FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays

The Federal Government has declared tomorrow, April 14 and Monday, April 17, 2017 as public holidays to mark this year’s Good Friday and Easter celebrations.
The Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, enjoined Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Easter, which are love, peace, justice, sacrifice and kindness to their daily living, and through this contribute to unity and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.
